Children make everything more fun at a wedding! As you watch the video, check out the other kids. Notice the little man on the left; totally unfazed. Then, the boy that has to try and control his crazy little cousin. Finally the little girls that think the whole thing is hilarious. I just get to take the pictures!
Formal portraits at a wedding are hard… and good. Trying to find aunt sally, or grandpa bill, can sometimes get interesting. It’s a bit difficult to get everyone smiling at the same time, not to mention looking in the same direction!
The portraits are usually the hardest part of the day for a photographer. During formal portraits, being quiet and reserved isn’t going to get people’s attention. But, that’s good. Because I usually end up having fun, and I think everyone else has a good time too. Besides, that’s the only time I get to pull out really corny jokes, and try to get a whole group of people to laugh together at my expense!
I grew up playing in the rain. So maybe that explains part of it, but I love the rain.
I like to be in it. There’s nothing like hiking through the woods with a drizzly mist coming down between evergreen branches. Or, paddling a kayak through ripple forming drops, on the way to an isolated cove on an island. It makes me happy just to think about it. I know that most people think that’s weird though. So, here’s a picture for you to enjoy, that was made possible by beautiful Northwest, Rain.
It takes guts to walk into a burning building, risking your own life, to save the life of another. I have a lot of respect for firefighters. Here are a few of our local firefighters. I shot these this evening with a simple one-light setup.
Really good photographers take pictures of famous people. That’s how you know I’m a really good photographer. Here’s a sneak peek at a recent photoshoot I did with some very well-known models:
(Just having a bit of fun with some images we made during an illustrative shoot…)
I love these two! Fun engagement session, followed by a beautiful wedding. They made it incredibly easy to hang out and take pictures. Location: Hotel Bellwether, Bellingham.
